Saturated and Trans Fats – The Bad Fats
these guys are no good for your body, because they are inflexible at a cellular level. This means they contribute to cholesterol build up and artery blockages, whilst causing an abundance of inflammation. Things like high blood pressure and cholesterol, arthritis, auto immune conditions, poor immunity, fatigue etc are all affected negatively by the consumption of saturated fats in your diet.
Saturated fats are found in all take away foods, bakery goods, pre-packaged biscuits and cakes, red meats, margarine and dairy products, chocolate and vegetable oils.
Essential Fatty Acids – The good fats
The good guys when it comes to fats are your Essential Fatty Acids (EFA’s). They are essential because our bodies need them to function, and the only way we can get them is to consume them in our diet! They are fundamental for weight loss, because they actually help your body to burn fat, and they also help you to need less food in order to feel full!
