I am Kacey and I am a chocoholic

Aaron and I married 2009

Our wedding cake, or not cake at all... was a chocolate box. 30kg of Belgium couverture chocolate. It was filled with over 600 truffles and instead of cutting a “cake” we hit our initials with a hammer...

Some would say this is excessive... I just think it’s totally viable, justifiable and more important than my dress tbh.

Ok, the ceremony was probably the most important part...

In all seriousness my love and fascination of chocolate has been a lifelong interest.

There are times I have total control over my infatuation and other times no control at all. I prefer the good stuff but the bad stuff suckers me in like a big emotionally comforting blanket.

So don’t sit there and judge me over my addiction. Yours could be coffee, exercise, shopping, alcohol, Facebook, energy drinks.... the list goes on.

Addictions at the end of the day are driven by many different reasons. From life events, stressful circumstances, self-belief, hormone imbalance or purely the need for a dopamine hit to feel some gratification.

A lot of people don’t know the power of natural medicine for addiction support.

Curtain Uni are currently studying the use of NAC/ N-Acetyl Cysteine for Methamphetamine addiction and it’s an amino acid Naturopaths have used for years to support addiction, mental health, hormone support and much more.

I find the combination of the great life coaches I have on hand and a set nutrient routine gets mine under control and back in the hot seat quickly. Without the support of Natural Medicine and Emotional transformations the challenge is so much harder.

Artillery to conquer the crave:

1.       Ensuring B Vitamins, especially B5 and B6 are in adequate levels or being supplemented helps to handle the stress of breaking the addiction.

2.       Sugar stabilizer, adequate protein and magnesium for sugar stabilization. I love the herb Gymnema and bitter melon to block the taste of sweet foods.

3. Understand the caffeine withdrawal from coffee can be brutal and have antioxidants and alkalisers on the double to combat this. I also am having herbal tea to help.

4. Identify the current craving triggers. I am writing them on loo paper and flushing them.

3.       The mindset of addiction. @zenlifecounselling what is the addiction masking, feeding, providing or suppressing that life is not fulfilling and how do I change this?

No animals were hurt, chocolate stolen or shame felt while writing this. We all have journeys no matter how big or small and I am proud of who I am bumps, lumps, tears, pain, happiness and class them all as triumphs with a beautiful life giving lesson for me.

So here goes it. I am aiming to break my addiction and improve my relationship with chocolate. Watch along on Instagram stories.

ps. I forgot I am also taking NAC… that is the key ingredient
